Shoe Love

"First there was Cinderella, then there was Carrie Bradshaw. We explain the fascinating reasons why footwear is seducing our imaginations — and emptying our wallets — more than ever.
So basically everyone knows that women LOVE shoes, it's not something that we try to hide. In fact according to science it is not the brand that entices a woman to buy a pair of shoes it's biology. That may sound like an excuse, but it's not it's is very true. Buying that new pair of heels you've been eyeing all month is like a kid going into a candy store and getting to buy anything that they want.
"Shoes are a collector's item, whether women realize they perceive them that way or not," says Suzanne Ferriss, PhD, editor of Footnotes: On Shoes.

Mohawks At The Met

I found this interesting article, Mohawks at the Met, on style.com about punk and high fashion. Now punk is not something that is thought of when you think about high fashion. The article talks about how punk broke all the rules of fashion and was a new and different thing that people had not seen. "Everything became possible after," and the impact that it had on high fashion was astronomical. This relates to class with the Grecian style of flowing fabric and it also had a huge impact on high fashion. Both the punk and Grecian style has greatly influenced the fashion world and continues to be present in current fashions.

Modern Ancient Egypt

These are some of the elaborate images from the 2004 Dior, Galliano show. In the article, Ancient Egypt brought back for the Dior Show, elaborates on the "mind-boggeling collection" and the haute couture. The writer clearly thought very highly of the collection and liked the fact that there were few wearable outfits in the collection, but only at the price that millionaires would spend. Seeing the show in class was very interesting and then reading an article about what someone else thought about it was very intriguing. Seeing a persons point of view who raved about it was different because even for being haute couture it was pretty out there of my taste. The show was an eye-catcher, that's for sure, but the overall detail of everything was a perfect embodiment of Ancient Egypt.
